01 Feb 2021... The Victorian Government is reducing barriers to accessing public transport. The Accessible Public Transport Action Plan 2020-24 outlines how to eliminate barriers to public transport journeys. The action plan sets out the steps the Victorian Government is taking to improve access to public transport and contributes to the Victorian State Disability Plan 2013-2016 and complies with the Federal Government's Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

01 Jul 2021... The National Employment Standards, or NES, are the minimum entitlements given to employees who work under the national workplace relations system. It's important to know the NES, as these are the minimum standards for employment in Australia. Watch this video to find out about NES entitlements including paid leave, maximum weekly hours and end of employment rights.

The National Disability Advocacy Framework 2023-2025 is a shared commitment to disability advocacy between the Australian, state and territory governments to ensure there is access to advocacy services for all people with disability nation-wide. Advocacy provides people with disability support and capacity to make and participate in decisions that impact their lives to ensure their rights are promoted and protected. The Framework will allow governments to work towards the alignment of advocacy services and standards to improve outcomes and access for people with disability. The multilingual resource links provide access to the translated document in PDF and Word formats. Access to text-to-speech (TTS)/read-aloud feature is also available for most resources. The resource is also available in Easy read/Easy English and Auslan.

The resource discusses how some individuals use cultural or spiritual beliefs to harm or control others. This might include preventing someone from practicing their religion, mocking their cultural practices, or using traditions to justify abuse. It emphasizes recognizing such behaviors as harmful and seeking help or support to ensure safety and respect for all beliefs.

It outlines the ability for family or friends to talk on their behalf and that the service is free and independent of government and other services.

It is written in Easy English, which is more accessible for people who have difficulty reading and understanding written information.
