Steps to meet the positive duty
This factsheet outlines guiding principles and standards for complying with the positive duty, which is a legal obligation introduced into the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) in December 2022. The positive duty requires organisations and businesses to take ‘reasonable and proportionate measures’ to prevent and eliminate workplace sex discrimination, sexual harassment and other unlawful behaviour from happening.
