Nitrous Oxide drug facts

This fact sheet provides the facts on nitrous oxide, commonly known as 'laughing gas'. Nitrous oxide is a colourless, non-flammable gas used in food catering and for sedation and pain relief in clinical settings. It is also sometimes referred to as an inhalant or a volatile substance.

It provides information on the short and long-term effects on your body and life, interaction with other drugs, inhalants use during pregnancy, tolerance and dependence, withdrawal, overdose, and telephone numbers for services in every state in Australia.
