What vaccines are recommended now my child is 18 months?
When your child is 18 months old, they are recommended to receive three vaccines:
- a combined vaccine for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox)
- a combined vaccine for diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough)
- a vaccine for Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b).
Additionally, it is recommended that your child receives an influenza vaccine every year before flu season. Influenza vaccines are free for children aged six months to under five years and can be given at the same time as the age-specific vaccines.
