Information on how HIV can be treated.
There are very effective treatments for HIV. Most people who take HIV treatment can live a long, healthy life. Treatment prevents HIV from multiplying in the body and reduces damage to the immune system. HIV treatment lowers the amount of HIV in the blood (the viral load) and increases the number of CD4 cells, the immune cells that are attacked by HIV. Treatment improves your health and your life expectancy. It also prevents HIV from being passed on sexually.
