Bringing the Early Years Learning Framework to life in your community. As early childhood educators, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Genuine, positive relationships with children, families and each other are essential if we want to achieve positive outcomes. When we think about relationships, it is usually relationships with children that spring to mind. But the relationships and partnerships that we build with families are just as important. Working with parents is rewarding, challenging and always full of possibilities.

Every day and every situation is a time for learning. As your baby becomes more alert, look for opportunities to enjoy and share your baby's discoveries.

01 Jan 2021... A calendar that provides a simple, fun and visual activity for children and parents/carers. Families are encouraged to complete an activity each day as shown on the calendar. Learning these common skills during the school holidays supports children's independence and readiness for school. Early Years Services and Primary Schools are encouraged to provide copies to all families to support the inclusion and participation of families from a refugee background transitioning into Primary School.

30 Jul 2024... A customisable letter has been written for you to provide to families with the introduction to the transition to school information sheet. This document can be easily used by your service by copying the letter onto your service letterhead, attaching it to regular newsletters or adding it to online communication to families. This information sheet explains to families the importance of sharing relevant information with schools and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services and how this information will be shared.

Guidelines to help families complete the Transition Learning and Development Statement Early childhood services, schools, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services and families are all partners in nurturing children’s learning and wellbeing. To make it easier to share information between services, schools and families an individual Transition Learning and Development Statement (TLDS) is written by the early childhood service for every child as they go onto school.  The TLDS shares information about your child’s learning, development and wellbeing between early childhood services and schools. It summarises your child’s interests, skills and abilities and identifies individual approaches and teaching strategies to support your child on their learning journey.
