01 Dec 2019... The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety has been set up to look at the quality of aged care services and whether those services are meeting the needs of the Australian community. This includes: Care for older people living at home, People living with dementia, and people living in residential aged care including younger people with disabilities.

If you need some help at home or are considering moving into an aged care home, you may first need a free assessment by an ACAT. A member of an ACAT will talk to you about your current situation and work out if you are eligible to receive government subsidised aged care services.
