01 Jan 2017... The Aged Care Signage will assist residents in aged care facilities navigate their way around their home or service. Signs such as 'kitchen', 'dining room', 'keep out', 'danger', and 'this way to the garden', will help improve communication with residents/clients and minimise confusion.

It has information on the Victorian Department of Health's clinical trial of the effectiveness of germicidal ultraviolet light in inactivating bacteria and viruses, and in preventing infection in aged-care residential facilities. The fact sheet has information on what the study is and why it is being conducted, the benefits of participating in the clinical trial, what to expect during the trial, what data is collected, and who you can contact if you have questions. Health information is often particularly sensitive, therefore consumers need to be confident that their information will be handled appropriately and confidentially. This makes it critical that at the time of collecting information, the consumer is provided with information about their privacy. The consumer privacy information brochure 'Your Information, It's Private' has been developed to assist in this process.

'Cue Cards' is a resource developed by Eastern Health, Diversity and Inclusion to assist health professionals, clients and carers who have English language difficulties or problems communicating with each other. This resource is not intended to replace accredited interpreters but can be used by clients/carers to communicate simple needs such as hunger and thirst, use of a telephone, and request for a Bible, and by professionals to indicate simple instructions/concepts. Please note that the translations for Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Creole, Greek, Italian, Malay and Vietnamese can only be downloaded directly from the Eastern Health website.
